Mobile Reconnaissance and Surveillance
The Mobile Reconnaissance Surveillance Team is a full-time ground team formed to provide specialized support of counterdrug investigations. The team’s primary responsibility is to provide assistance in conducting in-depth surveillance and documentation of activities in varying terrain and light conditions. The team is trained to use specialized video equipment, still cameras with low-light apertures, long-range lenses, thermography equipment and digital photography. Centrally located at Fort Indiantown Gap, the team can deploy with little advance notice to any area of the Commonwealth. Many of the counterdrug Operational Case Support personnel located throughout the state are crossed-trained and can supplement the activities of the Mobile Reconnaissance and Surveillance Team when a large-scale investigation is requested.
